The challenge
A retail distribution company based in Senegal had built its entire digital ecosystem on a local agency — with all the risks that come with it. Their data was hosted externally, their former provider had full access to their databases, and their operations ran on a mix of disconnected tools. Every new team member meant more chaos, more manual work, and more exposure.
They came to us with a clear objective: take back control of their data, restructure the entire ecosystem, and equip their teams with tools that actually matched their reality — not a generic ERP forced into their process.
The stakes were high. This wasn’t a website redesign. It was a full operational transformation: inventory, sales, CRM, e-commerce, accounting, and the internal workflow that ties everything together.
Our approach
We started with a deep discovery phase. Interviews with every department head, mapping of existing processes, audit of their data flow, and a full specifications document (cahier des charges) that listed exactly what had to be built — module by module.
Odoo emerged as the obvious choice: open source, modular, self-hostable, and powerful enough to handle retail distribution at scale. But the real work wasn’t choosing Odoo — it was customizing it to their reality.
We built each module to make life easier for their teams:
- Data sovereignty — We migrated their entire infrastructure to their own private VPS cloud. No third party has access. Every database, backup, and workflow belongs to them.
- Inventory & MRP — Real-time stock tracking across multiple locations, automated replenishment, and manufacturing planning where needed.
- CRM & Sales — A unified pipeline that connects every lead, every quote, and every order to the same record. No more lost prospects in spreadsheets.
- Marketing & E-commerce — A connected storefront that syncs orders, stock, and customers with the back-office in real time.
- Accounting — Localized to Senegalese regulations, with automated entries, tax rules, and reporting.
- Automation — Custom workflows that trigger actions across modules (stock alerts, invoice reminders, follow-up tasks, KPI dashboards).
- User permissions — Granular access rights so every team member sees exactly what they need — nothing more, nothing less.
Beyond the technical build, we delivered a full team training program: written documentation, video walkthroughs, and on-site training sessions in Dakar.

The result
The company now runs its entire operation from a single, self-hosted Odoo ecosystem. Their teams gained measurable time — hours saved every week through automation, real-time stock visibility, and a CRM that doesn’t let leads slip through the cracks.
More importantly, they regained control. Their data lives on their own infrastructure. Their workflows match their reality. Their team is autonomous.
The productivity gain was immediate: from a fragmented, externally-dependent system to a unified, secure, and scalable ERP that grows with the business.
